WESTJET, ONE OF CANADA’S LARGEST AIRLINES, HAS ANNOUNCED A NEW DIRECT ROUTE TO BELIZE STARTING OCTOBER 29.

WestJet made the announcement via press release on Monday morning. The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) also issued its own release expressing its excitement that WestJet has added Belize to its travel route.

The direct flights will be offered twice per week and will fly non-stop from the Toronto Pearson International Airport.

“WestJet is proud to become the only Canadian carrier to fly non-stop to the Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport in Belize,” said Bob Cummings, WestJet Executive Vice-President, Commercial. “The flight’s departure time will allow guests to connect seamlessly from many cities across Canada to a destination known for its large Canadian ex-pat community. WestJet continues to respond to the needs of the communities we serve by delivering more choice, competition and lower fares to Canadian travellers. The launch of service to Belize and our new, year-round service to JFK underlines our commitment to making air travel better in Canada.”

“With Canada being one of the strong source markets for tourist arrivals in Belize, we are extremely excited about this new direct route,” said Karen Bevans, Director of Tourism for Belize. “We welcome WestJet’s first direct flight to Belize, which we guarantee will boost the demand for Canadian travel to our unique destination. Belize and Canada have shared strong ties for many years, so we anticipate that this direct flight from Toronto to Belize City will encourage even more Canadians to venture south to our beautiful jewel.”

WestJet will depart Toronto at 9:15 a.m. and arrive in Belize at 11:59 a.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

We fully expect this new flight to bring down a lot more Canadians and expose them to the beauty of Belize. And with exposure comes investment.

Southwest Airlines announces seasonal nonstop flights from Denver to Belize City

DENVER — DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IS ADDING TO ITS GROWING LIST OF INTERNATIONAL CITIES. NONSTOP SEASONAL FLIGHTS FROM DENVER TO BELIZE CITY WILL START IN MARCH, SOUTHWEST AIRLINES AND DIA ANNOUNCED THURSDAY.

Southwest Airlines will operate the new service once per week, on Saturdays, during the peak season for travel to Belize from March 11 through April 22.

The flight is scheduled to depart DIA at 10:30 a.m., arriving in Belize City at 2:50 p.m.

The airport said with the addition of Belize City, DIA now has service to 20 international destinations in eight countries, and more than 170 nonstop destinations.

The new service starts March 11.

With these new exciting announcements, Ambergris Caye residents and investors are interested is seeing what happens in the market 6-12 months from now.

These additional flights from major cities in the US and Canada bring with them buyers and investors.

Typically the sales bump is seen 6-12 months after a new flight is initiated.

So, would now be a good time to invest? Before those additional buyers reach the island?

Look for investments that are in up and coming areas. Properties that are desirable. Properties that are still cheap, but have reason to go up in value.
